DIY: Learn to Knit!

So I do plan on going crazy with posting up knitting projects of mine, but before I get too far into it, I thought it'd be good to have a post all about how to knit.

Knitting may be a bit scary for some people to try,but trust me, it's way easier than you think. There are a lot of great teaching tools out there and I'm going to share some with you.

Finally the Weekend!!!

I know we all love the weekends, but for me... OMG I freaking LOVE the weekend. It means I can spend endless hours gaming or crafting or cooking or whatever! No time limits, no stopping to talk to a client or boss, just what I want to do when I want to do it and for however long I feel like doing it.

On the agenda for this weekend is some hard core knitting, some movie watching, and some Halloween decorating (hopefully pictures will come of that)! I totally scored at the craft store and got really pretty yarn that I plan on making some shawls out of.

Thursday Night Unwind

So work an odd shift on Thursdays. I work from 12:30pm until 9:00pm then i have to turn around and be into work and ready to go at 8:00am. At least tomorrow is half day so I only have to be there till noon (yay!) and then afterward is a trip to the beloved Ale Asylum here in Madison, WI for lunch... and a beer. Really good beer at that. My personal favorite is the one called Happy Ending (a Belgian abbey).
But enough about tomorrow, we need to focus on the here and now. Like that fact that I need to go to bed and I'm too wired to do so. So I like to unwind with some good tunes from time to time and a glass of wine (I'm really not a lush, but this post really isn't helping to prove that fact).
First up... a video! This is a group called The Head and the Heart. if you haven't heard of them I'd suggest pushing the play button on the video... cause they rock.

Knitting Pattern: Slouchy Mama Hat

As of recently, I've been knitting up a storm! I thought it'd be nice to share a few projects I'm working on every now and then. So I give you the pattern (from Brookiellen Designs) for my new favorite hat.

I know the picture is a tad blurry, but I hope to get a better one soon when I can convince my other half to pick up the camera. :) This was a really quick knit and I used Wool Ease Thick & Quick in Sequoia.
